Evita Auditions

Evita is the story of Eva Duarte, a young actress who rose from obscurity to become the first lady of Argentina. As the wife of President Juan Peron, she became a national sensation and icon until her death from cancer at age 33.

Evita is not a typical musical, but is an opera. Everything is sung...there are no spoken lines! It has a rock/pop component to the music, as well as traditional string orchestra sounds. There is a decidedly Latin beat to much of the music.

Evita takes place in Argentina and Europe from the late 1930s to the early 1950s.

Rehearsals will be held weekdays January and February from 2:30-6:30 pm
(this is the time range for all rehearsals -- no one will be expected to
be there every day the entire time period). Rehearsals will be held over
February vacation from 9 am-6 pm and evenings the following week (tech
week). Show dates are the first two weekends in March (2-4 and 9-11).

are sung! There will also be roles for dancers who do not sing.

Everyone and anyone can audition and will be considered for any role. All
roles listed as “male” or “female” have at least one solo song. Some
roles combine for a small ensemble (trio or quartet).

AUDITION MUSIC WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PICK-UP IN THE CHORUS ROOM. THERE
ARE AUDITION PACKETS FOR EITHER MALES OR FEMALES THAT CONTAIN ALL MUSIC,
WHETHER FOR LEADS, SUPPORTING ROLES, OR GENERAL CHORUS.
