0PERA IS COMING TO CCHS
Opera is coming to the Concord Carlisle High School! Under the direction of Mrs. Paula Eldridge, a local voice teacher, a select group of eleven students at CCHS, aged fifteen to eighteen, are studying, rehearsing, and performing a series of opera scenes this December. The presentation consists of scenes from such varied works as “West Side Story”, “Porgy and Bess”, “The Magic Flute”, “Carmen”, “The Marriage of Figaro” to name a few. The students will act and sing their way through Gershwin, Mozart, Bernstein, Bach, Bizet and more!
This is a groundbreaking endeavor involving a group of hardworking, talented singers. “This is a wonderful program for both the audience and its students,” says Mark Nimar, a fifteen-year-old baritone. “Mrs. Eldridge’s students gain excellent experience vital to a musical career and the community is exposed to music that is both sophisticated, but approachable.” The performance is Friday, December 14 at 3:30 PM in the CCHS auditorium. Admission is free of charge so come and enjoy the show!
