The fall mini-musical is that zany Marx Brothers musical comedy Animal Crackers. Before the successful 1930 movie, Animal Crackers enjoyed great success as a hit Broadway musical in 1928. The plot concerns explorer Captain Geoffrey T. Spaulding attending a party in his honor at the Long Island estate of a wealthy society matron. During the party, all sorts of craziness breaks out among the various characters. The show contains such lines as "One morning I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got in my pajamas, I don't know," and "There's one thing I've always wanted to do before I quit—retire."
