BARNUM VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

CCPOPS is gearing up to support Mr. Kendall, Mr. Dentino, the cast, pit orchestra, and crew. CCHS students will produce and perform SIX performances of BARNUM on March 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, & 12. CCPOPS needs a HUGE amount of support from parents and friends of the performing arts to provide the backup needed to enable these remarkable students and Mr. Kendall to produce another outstanding show. We are looking for adult and student volunteers. The following are some areas where help will be needed and the person to contact:

PLAYBILL ADVERTISING: Here’s your chance to say, “Great Job!” to your student. This is an opportunity to say how proud you are and support CCPOPS at the same time by placing an ad in the Barnum playbill. Please see the attached form for information. COSTUMES: Costumes needs parents and students to help:

  • shopping/finding costumes
  • mending (minor sewing e.g. buttons, hems; great with pins and duct tape!)
  • sewing (making clothes from patterns)
  • dressing (helping boys and girls change during dress rehearsals and performances—men are needed for the boys’ dressing room; and making ongoing inventory checks)
  • strike (after last show, sorting costumes by source, organizing for cleaning)
  • final inventory and returns to sources after cleaning is completed

FEED THE KIDS: “Feed the Kids” needs parents to help:

  • with COSTCO food runs
  • preparing and serving food during February vacation week and the week before Opening Night
  • preparing light snacks and acting as “backstage Moms and Dads” during performances to help the cast and crew with emergencies as they arise

FRONT OF HOUSE (FOH) & CONCESSIONS: Front of House needs adults to help set up and staff ticket and refreshment tables in the lobby (front of house) before and during performances. Front of House needs students to help sell tickets at school during lunch blocks the week before Opening Night and to usher for the performances, including selling refreshments at Intermission. FLOWER SALES: Sell flowers in the lobby during the Musical, primarily as a service to make it easier for fans to give flowers to their favorite performers after the show, rather than as a fundraiser. Help is needed to prepare bouquets for selling and to staff the flower sales tables during performances.
