Front Of House

The Front Of House sets the tone for the performance!!

The first place the patrons see is the front of the house as they enter the school or performance area. The theme is decided upon by the director of the performance and can be simple or elaborate, depending on the performance. The plays and dance recitals are more simple and the musical which runs for two weekends is more elaborate. Building on the theme, the area is decorated and concessions are set up, depending on their appropriateness to the theme and the desire for revenue.

How you can help

A willingness to work is all that is needed. One or two creative people to see the entire picture and decide on decorations and placement of concessions is also helpful.

Fundraising

The goal of the fundraising committee is to raise money while building strong, broad-based community support for the performing arts at CCHS. This committee is a great place for people who can see the possibilities in anything, are creative and like to work in a team-oriented environment. We also need people who can turn creativity into reality by organizing events, communicating ideas effectively and garnering support from the CCHS and local communities.

In 2000-2001 we began what has become an annual tradition for CCPOPS and the CCHS community at large called A Time to Shine. Parents, teachers and alumni perform, accompanied by a meal served by students and prepared by Mr. Brown and a large group of volunteers. An auction rounds out this evening of entertainment for the community. A Time to Shine requires volunteers with talents in many different areas to come together to create a memorable evening for all who attend. The proceeds from this fantastic event provide approximately half of the operating budget for CCPOPS.

    Feed The Kids...

... jumps in whenever performances or rehearsals require the students to spend extended time at school. Traditionally, this includes tech weeks for the Cabaret, the Fall and Spring plays, and the Musical. February vacation is a very busy time for Feed the Kids due to rehearsals for the annual musical production. In addition, Feed the Kids may offer sustenance when it is difficult for the performers to get a meal on their own, such as during the MICCA competition.

Feed the Kids provides snacks and easily-prepared meals for the performers and crew. During February vacation, morning snack, hot lunch and afternoon snacks are provided, as well as dinner when the Director indicates that 'double rehearsals' are scheduled. When rehearsals are scheduled for after school, an afternoon snack is provided as well as dinner.

    Media Archive

CCPOPS offers several ways to share and save memories of both concerts and stage productions. First, all performances are photographed and the photos are posted for viewing online at the CCPOPS Photo Gallery. Second, we make recordings of selected performances, which are available in the lobby at future performances.

    Viewing Photos Online

Go to the Photo Gallery to see photos of various performing arts events as they take place during the year. The photos are organized into galleries for each stage production, concert, etc. These galleries include cast photos, set builds, backstage candids and shots taken during performances. You can order prints of any photos to be mailed direct to you. Here's how:

    About CCPOPS

    Our Mission

Concord Carlisle Patrons Of Performing Students is a non-profit organization created to support the Concord Carlisle High School students involved in the performing arts. We are not a political organization - we provide our support directly by lending our personal skills, energy, and enthusiasm to enhance the quality of the performing arts experiences of the students. We also raise funds to support both particular events and the performing arts programs as a whole.
