Alumni News - September 2006September 2006 Becca Staples-Moore ’04 is majoring in Psychology, Education and Child Study at Smith College in Northampton, MA, and is a member of the Smith Cross Country, Indoor Track and Track Teams. She worked at the Smith College elementary school last year in preparation for her planned career in teaching at that level. Becca will spend spring semester of this year at Denmark’s International Study Program in Copenhagen. Molly Dapice ’04 transferred from Tufts to Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Washington, D.C. where she is a rising junior. She has served as an outdoor activities leader and ridden on the equestrian team. She is spending this fall semester at the American University of Cairo in Egypt where she looks forward to working on her speaking skills in Arabic which she has studied since graduating from CCHS. Molly is majoring in International Politics. Brian Gaines ’04 is a junior at Boston University and is busy honing his leadership skills. This year he will serve as the President of the BU Chapter of the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality. He was elected to this position last spring and will be traveling to conferences around the country, realizing opportunities to network with other students and professionals in his field of study. Brian is a Resident Assistant, and continues to work at BU Escort Safety Service (providing students with safe transport on campus), a position he has held since his Freshman year. Brian has also served as an Admissions Ambassador, meeting with prospective students and their families, as an Orientation Leader and as a Dean’s Host for the College of General Studies. He participated in BU’s Dance Marathon Fundraiser, dancing 12 hours Freshman year and 18 hours last year! During vacation periods, Brian has been working in the hospitality industry, visiting family in Puerto Rico, as well as driving cross-country to visit family in California. Jeremy Pasha ’01 has landed a principal role in a national tour of Jesus Christ Superstar. Jeremy plays Annas, one of the Jewish High Priests; you may remember that in the show Annas sings an important duet with Caiphas. The tour opens on Friday, September 8, in Buffalo, then will tour Canada (including Saskatoon, Saskatchewan!) and the U.S. until July 2007. A wonderful additional note is that this will be the farewell tour for Ted Neely who is reprising the role of Jesus that he played in the 1973 motion picture. The tour will play one night, April 12, at Lowell Memorial Auditorium, and other venues in the area: watch for news of tickets going on sale! Evan Pasha ’05 had a happy and successful freshman year at Skidmore College. He is on the soccer team and is studying primarily science and exercise physiology. He’s thinking of working toward medical school, perhaps focusing on sports medicine or even neuroscience. Rachel Cooper ’05 is really enjoying Reed College in Portland, Oregon. She’s working extremely hard but also finding time to be on the Ultimate Frisbee team as well as helping to lead a youth group at a local Unitarian Universalist church. Meaghan Riley ’05 is beginning her sophomore year at Boston College where she hopes to pursue an International Studies program, double majoring in Hispanic Studies. In her freshman year she began competitive Latin Dancing, and this year she would like to join an A Cappella group. Jenny Zuk ’05 completed her freshman year at Case Western Reserve University as a Music Education Major, studying flute as her primary instrument and voice as secondary. She participated in the Symphonic Winds, the Wind Ensemble, the Orchestra, and the Concert Choir. Jenny worked for the music department, helping with the Case Western Youth Symphony. She will be traveling to Australia and New Zealand this summer on a concert tour with this group where they will be performing at the Sydney Opera House. Jenny also volunteered with the Rainbow Babies program at the University Hospital on campus, working with pediatric oncology patients. She is also working toward a minor in Natural Sciences.
